Maddy and Josh’s spring wedding at Darlington Estate felt like one of those days where everything came together naturally. Clear skies, soft sunshine and a gentle warmth set the tone for a celebration filled with love, connection and thoughtful styling.
The morning began with the boys getting ready before I joined Maddy and her bridesmaids, who brought such a relaxed, joyful energy to the start of the day. Maddy was the picture of elegance in a beautifully beaded gown, carrying herself with a calm confidence and genuine warmth that put everyone at ease. Her bridesmaids looked effortlessly chic in black dresses, each one slightly different in style yet perfectly cohesive together.
Hair and makeup by Lyndsay and the team at Starlet Concepts was beautifully polished while still feeling natural and true to each of the girls.
Josh looked equally sharp, adding a touch of rustic character with his choice of boots. When he saw Maddy walking down the aisle, you could see how much the moment meant to him.
A Terrace Ceremony Surrounded by Bushland
Their ceremony took place on the terrace overlooking the surrounding bushland, framed by elegant white florals and the quiet beauty of the hills. The floral styling by Lynda from An Affair With Flair complemented the natural setting perfectly, adding softness without taking away from the landscape.
Celebrant Sharlene from Marry Me Sharlene shared their story with warmth, humour and sincerity, and their vows were deeply personal — moments that had everyone completely focused on them.
After family photographs at the estate, we wandered into the nearby bushland with the wedding party. The champagne pop set the tone — relaxed, celebratory and full of laughter — before we spent time creating portraits among the trees and natural surrounds. It felt easy and unhurried, with plenty of genuine moments along the way.
From there, everyone made their way back to the venue to be welcomed into the reception.
A Relaxed Reception and Thoughtful Details
Inside, guests gathered in the warm glow of candlelight and elegant white florals as the newlyweds made their entrance and the evening began. Thoughtful details were woven throughout the styling, including a donut tower from Cake Date that quickly became a guest favourite.
After entrées, we slipped away briefly to the nearby escarpment for sunset portraits. The light softened across the valley and the quiet offered a moment to pause together and take it all in. These in-between moments often become favourites later — and the photos from this time together are certainly some of my favourites from the day. I always love when we can build in a little quiet time for just the two of them. The day moves quickly in the best kind of way, and these moments give them space to slow down and simply be together.
Back inside, heartfelt speeches had guests laughing and tearing up in equal measure. Live vocals by Lily added a beautiful atmosphere to the evening before DJ Jooljordy kept the dancefloor full as the celebration continued into the night.
